Job Description Summary: 
CES is looking for a Business Development Specialist who understands the fundamental drivers of the business, customers, partners, and competitors. The BD Specialist will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships and prospect/develop new business opportunities.  
 
Duties/Responsibilities:   
 
Develop new business opportunities 
Take lead role in the development of proposals  
Identify trends and meeting regularly with management team  
Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources 
Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations 
Review documents (RFP’S, RFQ’S, RFI’S, SOW’S etc.) for clarity and compliance to federal acquisition regulation for organization’s GSA Enterprise 
Coordinate with Executive leadership on proposal development for Federal Contracts 
 
Required qualifications/skills: 
 
Minimum of five years of experience as a BD professional  
Minimum Bachelor’s degree  
Related experience working with Federal Agencies (DOJ, FDA, CMS, VA or USDA). 
Experience in reviewing and understanding proposal development for federal contracts 
Great oral and written skills  
Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities 
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint and comfortable with using a computer for various tasks 
 
 
Preferred qualifications/skills: 
 
Experience in contract policies and regulations 
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely 
Experience in full life-cycle proposal development  
 
Supervisory Responsibilities: 
None 
 
Location:  
Washington DC area 
Can be performed remote 
 
 
Physical Requirements: 
May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
